MIGHTY MONSTER WHEELIESS
I was hired by Yellow Tracksuit Entertainment to assist with early pre-production design work for Mighty Monster Wheelies, a DreamWorks animated series on Netflix. My role focused on exploratory sketchwork to help define the visual world, from character development to set design. The show combines monster motifs with vehicle-based characters, and my contributions helped lay the groundwork for the tone and style of the environments and cast.

SEASON 1 TRAILER
A glimpse into the final look and feel of Mighty Monster Wheelies, now streaming on Netflix. This trailer highlights the show’s unique blend of monster-mash energy and vehicle mayhem, bringing to life many of the early design ideas developed during pre-production.
DR. JALOPY'S JUNKYARD
A grayscale blockout of Dr. Jalopy’s Junkyard, designed as a stylized monster-infused scrapyard. Elements like a trash compactor with sharp teeth and twisted metal piles were sketched to give the space character and menace.
MONSTER CITY
This layout sketch imagines a sprawling monster city with winding streets and trackways for monster-vehicle characters to traverse. The grayscale blockout establishes the general flow and scale of the city from a high-level world-building perspective.
MONSTER CASTLE INTERIOR
A multi-level interior sketch of the main character’s castle, a gothic, vehicle-themed space with zones like a diagnostic bay, car wash chamber, and eerie decor. The grayscale painting focused on balancing monster-mansion charm with automotive function.
MONSTER CASTLE EXTERIOR
This exploration presents exterior castle variations decorated with tires and winding roadways built directly into the structure. The grayscale study aimed to mix haunted castle tropes with fun, interactive racetrack elements.
CHARACTER ORTHOGRAPHIC : SWEEPS
A turnaround sheet of Sweeps, a Wolfman-inspired street sweeper car with clawed brush hands. This drawing defines the core proportions and functional silhouette for production modeling.
CHARACTER EXPLORATION SKETCHES
This series of black-and-white drawings reimagines classic Universal Monsters as stylized vehicles, blending familiar horror icons with playful car designs. Concepts include a mail van inspired by Van Helsing, a swampy dune buggy as the Creature from the Black Lagoon, a transforming tractor-cement roller for Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde, and a clawed street sweeper as the Wolfman. Other designs include a bat-like helicopter-motorcycle hybrid, a stealthy Invisible Van with extendable arms, and Scoots, a friendly scooter character that adds charm to the monster-filled cast. These sketches laid the visual foundation for the show’s character style.
